With the flight restrictions in place this year and everyone turning their heads to holidaying in the UK, Clive and I have set up a Very Special Offer saving you 15% for your 3 Day Break. We live in a very beautiful part of the UK bordering Surrey, Kent and West Sussex with lots of green open spaces and would love to share all this with you during your stay with us at Cumberland House B&B in Horley. Our 3 Day Break includes Full English Breakfasts each morning of your stay and is open to single occupancy or 2 people sharing. Obviously if you would choose to stay longer we would be delighted to have you!

Horley, Surrey:  Horley is a small town set on the East side of Surrey, bordering with Kent and West Sussex.  Horley, although small has plenty of amenities to cater for your 3 Day Break.  Horley is not at all hilly and is a lovely 10 minute walk from Cumberland House.  You will find many cafes in Horley all competing to serve the best coffees and paninis.   You will find a chemist, bank, post office, computer repairs, shoe repair, lots of beauty salons and barber/hairdresser salons.  You may also find 1 or 5 estate agents to check out the price of property in East Surrey.   Horley has its own train station which can connect you to any part of the UK.  Oh and I nearly forgot to say, Horley has a lovely variety of pubs and restaurants for an evening meal.

I would like to share with you a few of the National Trust Gardens we have within an easy drive of Cumberland House B&B in Horley.  If you don’t already have National Trust Membership we might change your mind.

Day 1. Kent:  You can start your journey after breakfast at Cumberland House and head over towards Sevenoaks in Kent.  It’s only a 45 minute drive by car.   You will also be able to visit Chartwell House which was Winston Churchills home for 40 years.   Afterwards, you can visit Ightham Mote, a very picturesque house which is 24 minutes by car from Chartwell.   Hever Castle home of Anne Boleyn’s family is also within the same area.  Please note: Hever Castle is not a National Trust Property but you would be able to pay entry on the gate.

Day 2.  Surrey:  So, for your second day I would keep you in Surrey.  After breakfast at Cumberland House, you could start your day by driving 40 minutes to the beautiful Claremont Landscape Garden NT just outside Esher.   For your afternoon treat, Denbies Vineyard is just outside Dorking and is well worth a visit.  Denbies is open to the public and you could enjoy a lovely walk through the vines or up the path to take in the awesome view over the North Downs.

Day 3. West Sussex:  On your third day you could take an 18 minute drive from Cumberland House to Nymans which is in the village of Handcross.  From Nymans you could take a 17 minute drive to Wakehurst Place which is north of Ardingly village.   If you enjoy steam trains, you might like to drive 11 minutes from Wakehurst Place to Horsted Keynes and have a ride on the Bluebell Line Horsted Keynes – Kingscote – Horsted Keynes.

Special Note:  During the Pandemic Covid-19 you are required to prebook your car parking space at all of the National Trust Gardens.    The NT houses may not be open yet due to Social Distancing.  It is best to check with each individual property.
