Brighton's i360

Brighton’s i360 – created by the makers of London Eye

Brighton’s i360, Sponsored by British Airways

has been reaching for the stars since the grand opening on 4th August 2016.  The 21st Century piece of architecture is now described at the Tallest Structure in West Sussex and has been designed and engineered by David Marks and his wife Julia Barfield; creators of The London Eye.   The giant glass cable car can hold a capacity of 200 guests, glides up 450 feet high taking in the stunning views of Brighton City, South Downs and the coastline stretching from Bexhill on Sea to Chichester.  Carmel has already taken time away from Cumberland House to enjoy a flight on Brighton’s i360.   “We choose a wonderful day with clear blue skies and the sun shining.   The 20 minutes journey was just fabulous and the Champagne was good too.  The queues at Brighton’s i360 speaks volumes”!  Brighton’s i360 is a brilliant upgrade to the bustling promenade.   It is positioned near to what remains of Brighton’s West Pier which was destroyed by arsonists in 2003.  There have been talks over the years about repair and reconstruction of the old pier but, it has not proved viable financially.  However, there does remain hope that with the success of Brighton’s i360 that maybe a contemporary West Pier reflecting the brilliance of the original, could be built.
