DubaiEmirates have launched an additional A380 airbus service from Gatwick to Dubai.

“The deployment of a third A380 to London Gatwick now means that travellers to and from London can enjoy our world class A380 on every flight”, as Emirates Divisional Senior Vice President, Hubert Frach said “the additional A380 service also means that passengers can now experience the Emirates’ flagship A380 experience all the way  through to London from popular inbound destinations such as Bangkok, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Shanghai further strengthening our position as a provider of world class travel”.

Cumberland House B&B is equally excited at this announcement and is keen, albeit on a smaller scale!, to emulate Mr Frach’s ethos of “being perfectly placed to serve the additional Emirates customers for their trips to Dubai.”

Dubai is on the southeast coast of the Persian Gulf and is one of the seven emirates that make up the UAE (United Arab Emirates). It is the most populated city of the seven, although Abu Dhabi is the capital, and has always attracted business travellers because of revenues generated from oil and trade.

However, in more recent years Dubai has become a ‘bucket list’ destination mainly due to its reputation as a retail haven – there are over seventy shopping malls in the city! Tourism is a very important part of Dubai’s economy and there are excellent hotels, restaurants and entertainment centres as well as other ancient and modern attractions.

Dubai is also the location of the man-made islands called “The Palm”. Two islands are planned but as of November 2014 only Palm Jumeirah has been completed. Dubai’s airport is the busiest airport in the world by international passenger traffic and, as such, in 2013 was the seventh “most visited” city in the world. It also boasts the Burj Khalifa (Khalifa Tower), which is the world’s tallest building at 829.8 m (2722ft) (completed in 2010). It has 160 floors – with the Observation Deck being on level 124!

Just as London Gatwick’s CEO, Stewart Wingate, stated “we offer travellers the best possible connections to worldwide destinations and the new Emirates A380 service allows us to do just that”, so can Cumberland House’s “Park, Sleep and Fly” and free transfer service ensure the best connection service for all guests going to or coming in to Gatwick Airport on the new A380 Emirates Airbus!
