Holiday Parking at Cumberland House:

We’ve thought long and hard about the Holiday Parking situation. In line with Government Guidelines on Covid-19 and Social Distancing we have decided the best way forward is for us is to temporary cut the number of cars Cumberland House would hold in our car park at any one time.

Prior to Covid-19, in the busy months we had a capacity to hold 30 cars. The procedure was that you drove into our car park on your arrival and we labelled up your car key. Clive would then park up your car up at the backĀ of the house and drive it back out front again ready for your return from holiday.

In light of Covid-19 Cumberland House Gatwick have reviewed the number of parking spaces to allow for Social Distancing and movement of cars. Photo taken in the good old days!

The New Normal Solution

The Covid-19 has changes all the above. Over the next few months Our ‘New Normal’ plan is to cut the amount of holiday parking cars at Cumberland House to 16. We will then see how the virus behaves over the next few months and act accordingly on this number. You will be advised before your arrival which parking spot will be allocated to you for the duration of your holiday. Clive will not reposition your car and your car will be in the same position as when you parked it up before your holiday. There will be ample space allowed between each car for you to unload and load luggage safely while allowing for the Social Distancing; in the event that 2 cars might arrive at the same time.
We ask you to bring 2 sets of car keys along. Cumberland House is in a residential area and if in the event that your horn sounds while you are away we would need to turn the horn sound off. You keep the spare key which will allow you to come and go from your car at ease while they are at Cumberland House.

We think this is the safest way forward. What are your thoughts?
