Visit Langshott Manor Horley for a Fab Afternoon Tea

When a special occasion arises and a posh afternoon tea is in the pipeline, we can highly recommend the Elizabethian, Langshott Manor Horley.

We recently visited Langshott Manor Horley to celebrate my belated birthday and what a wonderful afternoon we had, we were truly spoiled.  What a feast…..we really did overdo the calories on that afternoon but it was well worth it, just for the sake of my belated birthday celebration of course.  🙂

What is the difference between Afternoon Tea and High Tea?

Back in 1840 when the traditional Afternoon Tea started, the upper classes would enjoy their afternoon tea on low chairs and low tables in their drawing rooms, as a gap between lunch and dinner.

Whereas, the middle to lower classes would have a more substantial High Tea at their dinner table to replace dinner.  So it appears, the difference depends on the height of the table you have your afternoon/high tea from.

Afternoon tea at Langshott Manor Horley is a real treat and served from 1pm till 5pm daily.  But remember, if you haven’t been able to fit in the afternoon tea at Langshott Manor Horley on this occasion do not despair.  You might still be able to enjoy a complementary piece of Carmel’s homemade cake and cuppa tea when you check in at Cumberland House B&B.  Tea and cake is served 4pm to 6pm daily. We look forward to hearing from you!
